Speaker
Dr. Chiu Yi-Chien, the founder of 1839 Magic Visual Art, is the first individual to earn a Doctorate in Art from the “Interdisciplinary Interactive Media Art Department” at Tokyo University of the Arts. Since 2009, he has curated exhibitions featuring works by over 75 renowned photographers from around the world. Prominent figures such as Michael Kenna, Christopher Burkett, Jock Sturges, Michael Wolf, Ken Kitano, and Daido Moriyama have personally attended gallery openings and participated in discussions.
Current Positions:
2011 – Present: President, Executive Committee, Taiwan Photography Art Expo.
2009 – Present: Executive Director, 1839 Magic Visual Art.
2007 – Present: Mentor, Taiwan Large Format Photography Society.
1997 – Present: Advisor, Center for Visual and Photographic Arts.
